Now that Katie Claire has cleared the last hurdle in the potty training marathon she finally earned the super big sucker from Mam Maw. It's been months since my mom gave it to her, I thought for sure she'd forgotten all about it. They really don't ever forget anything, do they?
Thankfully, she ate it, broke it and forgot all about by the time she got up from her nap that day. Which was also good since I had already thrown it out. What a mess!

We had taco soup for dinner tonight and as usual Katie Claire snubbed her nose at her meal as she does most evenings no matter what's on the menu. I told her if she just took one bite she could have a s'more for dessert. One bite, survivor style - you have to swallow it and let me see inside. Otherwise she will take a bite and begin making gagging noises to get out of it. If it comes back out, it doesn't count! Then I showed her what a s'more was made of and she agreed.

Deron meantime said he wanted "some more" and returned to the table with another bowl of soup. A puzzled look came over her face and she yelled to me in the kitchen "I don't want some more!, I don't want some more!" After we assured her that her s'more would have chocolate in it she settled down.

Also, today I overheard her telling happy meal barbie to close the door (to the Little People dollhouse) because she "had the air on". Too funny!

This is Addison and Katie Claire hanging out after Little Gym. She told me yesterday that Addison was her best friend - I was a little upset to hear this since the day before she told me I was her best friend! I'm sure this was only a sign of things to come.

Katherine Claire is very in to imitating everything Mom and Dad do with baby Annalise, including toting her baby around in a carrier. She spends much of her day strolling her babies around the house - they often go to Lowe's and Hobby Lobby. Katie Claire certainly has a very vivid imagination. She feeds them in the baby doll highchair and puts them to sleep in her dolly pack n' play.

When any of the real baby equipment is vacant, you can be sure it will not stay that way long. I constantly find babies strapped in to Annalise's car seat and swing and they are often found enjoying the activity mat as well.

This is Anya and Katie playing at the church playground around the corner. Anya lives just down the street from us. They are just a couple of months apart and they play really well together - sharing and taking turns. Anya has a little brother named Steven, who is just a little over a month older than Annalise. It's nice that the girls have such great friends so close.

Out on our morning walk

Now that the weather is nice, the girls and I have been going on walks in the morning. Annalise sits in the Baby Bjorn while Katherine Claire enjoys a stroller ride to the lakes. When we get to the lakes she gets to walk by herself like a big girl - Mommy's intent is to wear her out for a morning nap!
